Install solidworks without a key install#
Is it really not possible to install PDM standard without a Solidnetwork License? I had no problem installing PDM Workgroup, but that is not a long term solution since the support will end in 2017. The PDM server install says it requires SNL, and we don't have that since I'm the only user. The default is 25734 (as described in Installing and Activating a License. The port number must be the same one used for the license manager computer. In the Add Server dialog box, type the SolidNetWork License Manager's address in the form: portComputerName.

My problem is that I cant seem to figure out how to install the new PDM Vault. When prompted for a serial number, enter the SolidNetWork License serial number. Since I am the only Solidworks user (so far) in the company it is basically just me that is going to benefit from it, but it will also make it easier down the road, if we get more mechanical engineers or designers on the team. With that said, most users cannot turn off their AV software due to corporate IT policy. I just got upgraded to Solidworks Professional 2016 at my workstation, and I have been tasked with implementing a better filestructure in our projects and I want to get started using PDM standard since it is already included with our single licence. Question: Do you recommend turning off anti-virus scanning when installing SolidWorks Answer: Certain anti-virus (AV) applications do not allow system resources to be updated if they are in use.The other issue with having the AV on during installation is performance-related.
